Barry LaValley  

Barry LaValley is a pioneer in the life planning approach to financial planning. He has over thirty years experience in the North American Financial Services industry and has gained a stellar reputation as a communications and marketing consultant for financial advisors and their firms. 

In 2001, Barry was a contributor to the book “Your Clients for Life—the definitive guide to Financial Life Planning” along with U.S. authors Mitch Anthony and Carol Anderson. Since that book was written, Barry has interviewed hundreds of advisors in both Canada and the United States and created a common sense approach to linking a client’s financial or investment strategy to meet his or her emotional needs. This is the foundation of what he calls "the right-brain approach to wealth management".

Barry's main area of specialty is in teaching wealth advisors how to communicate effectively with clients, prospects and COIs.  His "right brain" approach is in use by advisors in Canada, the U.S, Hong Kong and Mainland China.  He also focuses his coaching and consulting practice on helping advisors understand how the aging process affects client communications.

Barry is on the advisory board for The Canadian Securities Institute CH.P (Strategic Wealth) designation Program and currently works with firms on both sides of the border. to help them implement a true wealth management strategy for their advisors.
